In rework, disassembly and inspection processes across 3C electronics, precision modules, sensors, small lithium batteries and precision hardware, automatic removal of M0.8–M2.0 micro screws has long been a production bottleneck. These screws are extremely small, with fine thread pitch and soft material. Manual removal easily leads to stripped heads, broken screws, dropped screws, scratched housings and low efficiency. Ordinary automatic screw locking machines are built for fastening only and cannot cope with the uneven preload, tilted screws or residual adhesive found in rework.
To solve micro screw removal, we offer three automatic screw removal machines — benchtop, vertical and vision-guided — plus a complete solution dedicated to M0.8 to M2.0 small screw removal.
Extremely small screw sizes: M0.8, M1.0, M1.2, M1.4, M1.6 and M2.0. The screw heads are tiny, manual alignment is difficult, and operators easily slip and damage the threads.
Uneven preload: fastening torque varies during assembly and some screws are very tight. Ordinary electric screwdrivers cannot control torque accurately, which directly causes stripped screws and scrap.
Workpiece positioning deviation: incoming parts are placed with offsets, and fixed-station machines cannot adapt to screw hole deviation, so the bit misses the screw.
Complex rework conditions: screw holes may retain adhesive or dust and screws may be slightly tilted. Ordinary equipment cannot detect this and often damages the housing.
High labor cost, poor consistency: operators tire quickly when removing micro screws for long periods, yield is unstable, and the manual approach does not suit high-volume rework and disassembly lines.
Ideal for small-batch, multi-model rework. Flexible workstation, small footprint — place it on any workbench and start.
Screw compatibility: M0.8–M2.0
Features: fixture-based workpiece positioning; removal torque and speed preset in the program; staged torque control — loosen first, then unscrew — to avoid stripped heads; precise bit alignment with automatic removal. Suitable for laboratories, small-batch rework and sample validation.
Typical use: small-batch precision disassembly, R&D sample teardown, small-order rework.
Ideal for production line integration and high-volume continuous disassembly. Higher rigidity and stability, and it can connect to line conveyors.
Screw compatibility: M0.8–M2.0
Features: vertical servo screwdriver with closed-loop torque control; multi-axis options to remove several screws at once; quick-change fixtures for continuous batch operation; counting and stripped-screw alarm that stops the machine automatically.
Typical use: high-volume factory rework, continuous disassembly stations on a production line.
The core solution for screw hole offset and workpiece placement deviation — no high-precision fixture required.
Screw compatibility: M0.8–M2.0
Features: a vision camera locates screw coordinates in real time and automatically compensates for positional deviation. Even with an offset workpiece or a slightly tilted screw, the machine corrects the bit position automatically. It intelligently judges screw condition and adapts removal for residual adhesive or slightly deformed screws. Mixed-model production is supported — switching products only requires loading a new vision program. It can also place removed screws at designated coordinates for fully unmanned operation.
Typical use: high-mix production, large incoming-position deviation, high-precision disassembly; 3C modules and precision electronic parts rework.
Staged torque control algorithm: applies breakaway torque to loosen the screw first, then unscrews at low speed, greatly reducing the risk of stripping micro screws. This is the most critical technology for small screw removal.
High-precision servo screwdriver: the adjustable torque range covers micro screws with high accuracy, suitable for extremely fine threads such as M0.8 and preventing thread damage from excessive torque.
Multiple models to choose from: pick the benchtop model (low cost), the vertical model (volume production) or the vision-guided model (solves positioning problems) as needed — without paying for features you do not need.
Flexible solution delivery: we do not simply sell equipment. Fixtures, bit selection and commissioning are included, together with customized removal process validation for your product.
Stripped-screw monitoring and alarm: torque curves are monitored in real time during removal. Once stripping is detected, the machine stops immediately to protect the workpiece and reduce scrap.
Rework and disassembly of 3C electronics, precision sensors, micro motors, small lithium battery modules, precision medical device components, small communication modules and precision plastic + metal assemblies.
Manual removal of M0.8–M2.0 micro screws struggles to balance efficiency and yield. Honred Technology’s benchtop, vertical and vision-guided automatic screw removal machines address the industry’s key pain points — stripped screws, difficult alignment and low batch efficiency. Based on your product dimensions, capacity and accuracy requirements, we provide a customized screw removal process plan and on-site sample testing. You are welcome to send samples so we can validate the micro screw removal result.
